Occasioned after reading the comments of baba Ramdev where he said:
During this, Baba Ramdev said that drug mafia is associated with allopathy. Ayurveda and Yoga have the ability to cure many serious diseases.He called the ongoing news about Giloy and Neem as rumor and defaming Ayurveda. The program was kept small due to the Corona protocol. Swami Ramdev said that Ayurveda has treatment for every incurable disease. Taking a dig at allopathy, he said that the drug mafia is associated with it. Even in the research paper, there is a role of drug mafia. He uses research to his advantage.[1]
Except, He is wrong.
If Ayurveda had the potential to cure incurable diseases then it could have cured the Spanish flu[1] which killed 20 million people in India alone or cured Swine flu[2] which killed close to 10,000 people in India from 2009 onwards or cured the bubonic plague[3] which killed 12 million people between 1896 to 1921 in India.
But it didn’t
It couldn’t cure incurable diseases at all because had it been the case then millions of people wouldn’t have died due to the pandemic diseases. So, the claim that ‘Ayurveda can cure incurable diseases’ is balderbash with zero substantial evidence.

Ayurveda was developed when modern science was still in its starting stage. There was no study of microbes and bacteria at that time, so it was impossible to know whether a particular disease could be treated by using particular herbal medicine. The ayurvedic medicine which worked for one disease doesn’t necessarily work for other diseases because diseases aren’t caused by only one type of microbes, there are thousands of infectious microbes which can cause diseases.
Compared to allopathic medicines which have plenty of ways to prevent or cure diseases by using hundreds of simple and complex methodologies, Ayurveda operates on a very narrow spectrum of curing diseases. It is more of a primitive science where only primitive diseases might be curable not complicated diseases. So, Ayurveda is ineffective in curing complex diseases in the short or long run.

Take the example of ‘small pox’ disease which is an acute contagious disease caused by a very virulent virus, it is believed to have existed for 3000 years and is believed to have killed over 300 million[4] people but it was eradicated from this world in 1980.[5]
How was it eradicated?
Is it by Ayurveda, homeopathy & any other primitive medical science
or
Was it eradicated by using allopathic medicines?
The correct answer is: Allopathic medicine.
It’s only because of allopathic medicine which was developed by ‘Edward Jenner’ and other scientific communities which contributed to the eradication of this deadly virus.[6]

Multiple natural products of Ayurveda and other primitive science were tried to cure complex diseases throughout the centuries but all failed. It was only because of allopathic medicines that is it possible to be able to cure complex diseases.
Even in the case of ‘COVID-19’ multiple doctors and medical associations have said that it is not possible to cure COVID by using ayurvedic products and usage of these methods amounts to quackery because it relies too much on untested hypotheses.[7]
It also lacks any framework to describe the mechanism of action. For any clinical trials to take place, there should be the identification of one or the combination of ingredients based on which multiple trials can happen. Ayurveda lacks such complex frameworks, it bases its theory more on obscure frameworks and incalculable elements.
But COVID-19 can be curable and preventable using allopathic medicines. Vaccines have worked perfectly fine in fighting coronavirus where 2nd dose of vaccine shows almost 85–90% effectiveness.[8][9]
In terms of deaths due to coronavirus, almost 92% of deaths due to coronavirus happened due to people being unvaccinated:

Vaccination, the government said, has brought the country to a low coronavirus phase encouraging opening up of schools, economic activity. The government, however, stressed that the threat of Omicron is not over yet.
“Vaccines have protected the nation in the surge. We are in a vaccine-enabled low coronavirus phase. It is rational to open schools, colleges, resorts, economic activities and normal affairs of society. But we should be intact and watchful of change in the behaviour of the virus,” said V K Paul, member (health), NITI Aayog and chairman of the National Covid Task Force.[10][11][12]
What can be inferred from the above data?
- 87% of deaths and 76% of people who are admitted to ICU were unvaccinated.
- People who have taken the first dose of the vaccine reduce their chance of death by 90% and those who have taken the second dose reduce their chance of death by 95%
- People who have taken the first dose of vaccine reduce their chance of being admitted to ICU by 79% and by taking the second dose, reduce their chance of being admitted to ICU by 88%.
It’s pretty much clear from the stats that the death rate is less for those who have taken vaccination.
So, these are clear evidence that only shows allopathic medicines are much more effective than ayurvedic ones contrary to what propagandists like Baba Ramdev claimed earlier.[14][15]
